Default Too Much Heattt

Ok...brand new car batts motor etc etc..Yokomo mr4sd ssg nothing is in a bind its all free and turns fine so i know it isnt that...but my batt lasted maybe...2 minutes and batt and motor got pretty hot. Why? Batts- epic 3000 sport pack charged on integy 16/7 and i did cycle them a few times before i started to use them and the motor is the epic outlaw stock motor. Its geared stock pinion and ring that comes factory from yok i think its like 30/78 or something tell me why the batts die so fast and get so hot

You are way overgeared, the supplied spur and pinion is for the japanese 8 minute 23T motor class. try a 25 tooth pinion with that spur gear and you should be fine.

It's your gearing, trust me. You were geared at 6.1 which is way way too low for a regular stock motor. A ratio around 7.2 is a good place to start

yer its your gearing, everyone gets rid of the 30tooth pinion that comes with the kit as it makes you miles overgeared.

Or maybe that the battery shorted. If it is then it will only last a minute or 2.

Yeah it is mostly gearing, if that epic pack is brand new it may take a few more cycles before it's up to full capacity as well. The ones I bought required about 7-8 cycles in the car before they showed their full capacity.

Combine a unready pack with too much gear and you've got a short run.
