I'm looking at getting into 1/10th touring stock 17.5 racing and if money wasn't an issue what is the best combo out there? thx for any feedback

I'll be racing indoor with a tc5

One that is paid for.
There is no real answer to the question "What is the best?" Look at what is run at the track you race at, then ask questions of the people that race in the class you want to run.

esc would be orca or hobbywing with thunder power motor

For spec racing tc i would say the lrp xxv2 just for the smoothest throttle and the revtech 17.5 with a certain optional rotor seems to be a killer combo on the carpet. if i had the $ , for now i will stick with my tekin rs pro. Since its paid for.

There are sooo many great brands available and different ones that work superbly for each racer. I preffer a Tekin esc with a Murfdogg Synergy motor.

The NOVAK Havoc Pro SC with Xdrive and the Ballistic red wire motor with the opened can are a pretty nice option.

You've got a PM

Don't go with the mentality that the most expensive ESC will "buy" you the best results....

You DO however, need an ESC that gives good throttle and brake "feel".

Different races have different expectations on how to achieve this and what is classed as acceptable.

I know of some racers who are happy with an EZ run esc, yet others prefer something with a better racing heritage to it.

Ask around your local track and see what other guys use. Ask them what makes a good ESC for them. You will get a wide range of answers, go from there :):tire:

thx everyone, I've ask "A LOT" at my local track to the point that I hope I don't have everyone annoyed with me...lol but I'm still rather newish at RC racing just wanted to hear what was out there. I'll research all that was told to me here thx for the info -s

I have used novak motors and escs, speedpassion motors and escs, hobbywing motors and escs and tekin escs. Ive used it for both race and drift and I can say Hobbywing is... a brushless system. nothing superior to other brands, but there are worse brands.

I prefer the Tekin ESC and Speed passion motors. mainly due to price, weight savings and customer support if something breaks. Novak has great customer service also.
