Tamiya Tyre Warmer
hi all,
i need help on the tamiya tyre warmer. Any of you guys used it before?
It says that i have to plug in to a 7.2 1200mh batt. using tamiya connector. Seem like i cant find any of tamiya connectors.
what if i plug it direct to the 12amp 12V power supply?

You would probably get some VERY hot tyre warmers!
Change the connecters and just use any 7.2V pack

i put my tire warmers on the power supply constantly.there always on.
as to how long you have them on the tyre for depends on tyre compound amount of additive you use and the amount of traction.
i use them with the old t27 tyres from m1 racing as these are a control tyre and there compound very hard so even on carpet traction is still low.[the only reason we use t27 in the uk is because it seems the organisers are scared of using a additive on the carpet for slick tyres thefore the only next tyre they know of which is good on caropet without additive is the t27].the tyre warmers get up to about 75 degrees c which is ok for this type of compound but if your using something like a cs22 or even a cs27 that temp may be too much a may damage them.if i were you id just experiment and see what happens.
i havent done much experiments with them so iam still learning lol.
