Whoever that dude is should post up the complete schedule ASAP 'cause that idea sounds awesome! Racing with headlights, pit stops, teamwork, double stints (triple stints for Hammy)........

Racing by headlights has been described by a multi-time national champion as "the most exciting experience in my entire r/c career"!

Reducing light levels and running with headlights makes it a proper 24 hour race, as long as the light levels are high enough to see to marshall.

I wish I could get Dirla to let us do a 24hrs deal...but to be honest...1000 laps is a beast as it is...on the 95x50 track...

but I was thinking that maybe do 500 laps with the VTA cars, and then once your team reaches 500 laps, switch to GT cars and dim the lights..and run another 500 with the lights dim...on after everyone switched over to GT

We have done a few Enduro's locally. Started doing them with Nitro... ( back in the day ). We would run two classes concurrent. Super Nitro and 200mm. It worked great.

In electric, we have run them in different formats, but they always tend to be so much fun.

We are scheduling an enduro next month and here is the format.

3hrs, One chassis, one Body per team. No customization to the chassis or body for endurance racing ( no quick change battery or body removal )
We are running two classes.

GT/Sportsman - GT Bodies - HPI tires or Solaris premounts - 17.5 Blinky
Pro - Race bodies - Solaris Premounts -21.5 Blinky

This is split more on skill, and the more skilled racers will have the slower cars, hopefully this create a close overall race after the 3 hours.

you know what would be cool? Having a scale (2.4 Hour) enduro the weekend of the Rolex 24. with McAllister Racing releasing their new Corvette DP it would be cool to have the 190mm cars racing DP style bodies and the 200mm cars racing GT bodies

Default endurance racing

I have done some endurance racing. We did it true 24 hr style. We had 3 classes, lemans, gt1,and gt2.

Lemans, was of course, tamiya lemans cars with the black can motor
GT1, tamiya 4 wd touring with black can motor
gt2, Tamiya 4wd touring car with silver can motor.

Now that was fun

Bill

Default Endurance Racing Series begins at the COLISEUM!

We've got a series starting in a couple months along the eastern seaboard.

The first race is the 12hr CLASH at the COLISEUM at the end of April. It's a GT event with day and night racing, just like the 24 Heures du Jackson (except without the threat of hurricanes and tornadoes).
