My understanding is the layout is staying the same until after the Nats.

The specific Nationals track and/or track layout will not be run on for a period of 3 days prior to the RMT controlled practice day. Except for one day of Host controlled practice to take place the day prior to the RMT controlled practice day. If the host opts to host practice the Nationals track and/or layout will not be run on for a period of 3 days prior to the Host controlled practice day.

Guys there is NO Practice prior to RMT Controlled Practice. So NO practice until Thursday before the race begins.

The layout will be changed and unique prior to Thursday practice. Its only fair for those attending.

Technically they can just run the track in reverse

You can sign up on Thursday also at the track.

Its best for all involved if your planning to attend to sign up online.

Ron - can you give us a quick overview of how the controlled tires work? When do we have to start using the Controlled tires. There seems to be questions to when it starts...

Indeed, we have been informed many times that there is no "same day registration".

It is not suggested to signup at the event, and YES its preferred if you sign up online.

But we'll accept entries to round out classes at the event. Some classes could potentially be closed out, as we would frown on running a heat with just a few who would sign up at the track.

Where are you getting this information?? If the track had only one layout, how could it be changed and made "fair" for everyone?

Drivers are only required to use the control tire during qualifying and mains. You can "run-in" your tires during practice if you have them if you choose but of course they must have already been tech'd.
