Does the track have any two day onroad races calendared before the Nats?

I'm not sure about two day events, but Espo did mention that there were "warm-up" races being planned.

Just a thought. Would be be a good weekend trip. Open practice on a Friday, quals Sat, mains Sunday and fly home.

A few of us from the PA/NY/NJ would like to get up there well ahead of the Nats for some racing.

Almost any Sunday when the nitro boys aren't having something special. Which really doesn't happen too often. See website:

Is World GT being considered for an alternate class? 13.5 or other, I suppose it doesn't matter. I'm not sure if WGT is ROARy enough for such an event, but I would like to do it.

Not sure about any two day races but there will be the Asphalt Assault Series race sometime before the Nats. It's a big deal locally. That might be a good time to show up because the Saturday before is mostly a practice day where most if not all the guys come to run. I'm sure that race will be bigger because of the Nats being here. This place is Awesome!! You can leave your trailers at home if you like....or bring them there is plenty of room outside the building for your pits. The indoor pits are air conditioned and big enough for a crowd.

P.S. The track is as smooth as a babys bottom too! Makes for a great time!

Thanks Mike. What do you guys run for tires there?

Plane flights from PA are fairly good. Will make it out in the next month or so.

Hopefully this doesn't open up a can of worms but.....

It has been a decade and a half at least since I have ran asphalt on a regular basis.

Are tire warmers going to be a mandatory item? Or to phrase it a different way;

Are tire warmers the difference between a mid to bottom "A" run and a top 3 "A" run, or is it a difference between a top 3 "A" run and a "B" main run without? All other things being equal of course.

Any anecdotal info from last years nats? All the top ten were using them or was it a mix of haves, and have nots?

More important in mod than in the spec classes?

Thanks in advance! I would like to avoid being "Surikarned".....

Mike Slaughter <------ Would prefer to have them banned.... (Completely irrelevant to the above questions, just a personal musing....)

This is a first....I personally dont see the issue. If its something that everyone can buy then what is the issue? If this is a money issue....like you dont want to spend it....then your argument will not hold any weight.

If you want to ban anything ban traction compound so no one has any "special" compound that not everyone can get.

Tire warmers can be picked up for cheap....case in point...55 bucks for warmers and thermal controler.
http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...warmer-p-23337

Really in the end you can get your car to work with out them it just depends on what compound you are using....thats really all you are doing with the warmers anyway is heating up the tire to take the compound better. Its not so much to heat up the tires to get them up to race temp. The amount they cool off by the time you actually start your race makes that null and void 9 times outa 10.

What Kevin said + Probably 80% of racers were using them at last years nats, I believe one of a fast xray guys in stock had a routine not using them though. Its mostly for consistency than all out pace, like kevin said, with the oil based compounds used outdoors, like tire tweak, the tire seems to take it better when heated. We also used a hard solaris spec tire.
