Correct?
The only problem you should have is trying to run 17.5 and mod...I am not sure if that is going to be ok or not. I'm pretty sure the point of 13.5 is to let the 17.5 guys have a 2nd class, as well as the mod guys.

5.3 CLASSES

5.3.2 Driver Categories:

5.3.3 At any single Level 5 event, a driver entering the sportsman stock class may not enter in any other higher level of skill based class. For example: a sportsman stock may enter the touring car and 1/12th scale of sportsman stock but not the same classes of expert super stock or open modified. If a 2wd chassis class is only offered as expert super stock then the sportsman racer may enter that class.

1.1.11 ROAR-sanctioned races are defined as follows:

Level 1: Local track races and series;
Level 2: Multi-city Series Championships and other regional races
Level 3: Regional and State Championships
Level 4: ROAR Championships, multi-regional or super regional open events
Level 5: ROAR RMT (Race Management Team) National Championships.

Now...lets define what is 17.5 class.

5.3 CLASSES

5.3.1 Vehicle Class Definitions:

5.3.1.4 Type of power: Vehicles may be powered by electric motors or by fuel
engines. Electric motors are further classified by wind of the motor. For
example, Spec 21.5, Spec 10.5, Spec 17.5. for Sportsman Stock classes, Spec 13.5 for Expert Super Stock classes and lower winds to be considered for modified classes. Fuel engines are classified primarily by fuel type, and then by engine displacement.

I think we just need ROAR official to come up here and confirm the above....according to the above, any of the 17.5 powered class is considered SPORTSMAN STOCK CLASS. There are no such thing is 17.5 stock and 17.5 SPORTSMAN stock. Only 1 class = 17.5 SPORTSMAN STOCK.

Driver who entered the 17.5 class, will NOT be allow to run the 13.5 class because 13.5 is considered expert super stock (see 5.3.1.4 above) for the reason of 5.3.2 sub 5.3.3. Driver who entered the 13.5 Expert Super Stock will be allowed to run the MOD Class. But not the 17.5.

Just need the ROAR official to confirm this......

The past indoor carpet national is apparently a "exemption" case. Will there be another exemption case for this outdoor national, will see.

According to the ROAR rules that I listed above....17.5 guys 2nd class are anything BUT the 13.5 and mod TC (rule 5.3.3). They are not allow to run 13.5 EXPERT sportsman class.

Is there any lawyer here...?

Last year for asphalt nats you could run 17.5 and 13.5 or 13.5 and mod.

For those VTA guys looking for a 20 min main, just think that someone else, NOT running a 20 min main has to marshal that class, you know outdoors in august

I know last year at the nats it was run 17.5 and 13.5 or 13.5 and mod. If so sounds like I will have to adjust my focus as needed.

It is only something we USVTA racer want to see and may be ROAR will try that. 20 min main is not something new for USVTA racer, yes, marshal will do a 20 main, but those who race NITRO, they are easily 30 minutes to 1 hour main...it is not something new. Just something electric racer does not do very often.....and alot of electric racer probably raced Nitro before and did more then 5 minutes main marshal before.

It is do-able, but I don't think that will happen.

Again, we hope we will here someone from ROAR and give us a better answer/refinement of the rules. What happened last year or this year at what race does not matter....just need the official word from ROAR for this year outdoor national.

I don't think ROAR need to say that but you should be OK...different motor (infact slower) different class.

Until I get the full ok from Scott, Aaron, or Roar I will not assume anything. According to the rule book it sounds like you can run 13.5 and mod but only 17.5. It also sounds like if I were to register for 17.5 TC I could only register for 17.5 12th scale. I would like a full clafication of that as well.

this all seems very...uhmmm...weird...but I plan on running US VTA and 17.5 TC, now I do have a take on the VTA class...and that if attendance is high enough in VTA, that if a 12-20 min main is done that the B-main guys would marshall it...

then again..heck I might be in the B...lol...

I truly dont care , but am like most...some clear answers would be nice...its important for me to be able to plan ahead

classes hotel format ect...

Registration for the Electric Nationals, or the "Super Nats" should have opened today, which is the typical 90 days prior to an event. But, we have a delay in receiving the race flier, which is needed to post the classes and make mail-in entries available. As soon as we have the issue with the printable flier resolved, registration via the ROAR website will be available.

(Via Facebook)

They might be talken about the off-road nats not sure....they are not very specific ......(supernats)=off-road.....
