Can't this be the case for the Nationals at LH as the track and drivers stand can support? You are the man that could make this happen... and say a 15min A Main....

....the 3-4-5 car packs drafting each other down the straight and working together to catch the pack in front of them, well.......maybe not. It was definately one of the most enjoyable races for me last year. To bad McGreevy and I couldn't catch Richard. We were definately faster running together vs racing each other.

Will you be able to help ROAR to refine the rule and format for the USVTA? The 20 car A-main for 20 minutes running full track definitely get me over instead of racing stock.

Lets keep in mind that there will be a lot more people at the Nats compared to the USVTA race at Harbor. With a full days racing on Sunday, with all the classes running, a 20min main probably isn't feasible due to time allowed.
With VTA being one of the "house" classes, I see no reason why a more than 10 driver mains can't be done !
Example: VTA has 60 entries (just to use a easy number)
3 - 8 minute mains with 20 cars each takes 24 minutes
6 - 8 minute mains with 10 cars each takes 48 minutes

The proof is above as far as time savings when running a bigger field, including all the classes, not just VTA.
Those that race Leisure regularly know they can handle it, the drivers stand is large enough, the track is way large enough to handle more than 10 cars at a time.
Why not do it !! do it, do it, do it !!!

You think too much, all you have to do is look at last year national.

USVTA will not be running Triple A....single main, 20 minutes 20 drivers (if there are 20 drivers...last year was 7, I highly doubt there will be more then 20 this year), and new BELT for the winner....

Who paid me the most money I will knock off NATT - the current belt holder off the fence on 1st turn.....LOL

Obviously, it all depends on number of entries. The time for the mains could be varied; 12min A main, 10min B main, 8min C main, etc ... nothing less than 8min for the rest if needed.
With all the input I'm seeing here on RCTech and talk around the track, there is a strong possibility that VTA might be the largest class at the Nats. Lets make it the most memorable one !!

If there is 20 car VTA mains I would race it just for that chance...watching it last year was awesome....racing in it would have been better.

Last years Nats were held at a place that didn't have a strong VTA presence (if any) as here in the Midwest.
Remember last years AA race, 40 or so entries in VTA. And that is a local Chicago race series. This is the Nationals my friend, it will be big !!

The only reason I can think of that would prevent VTA from not being big is the cost factor: entry fee $$$, could prevent many people from entering.

I really hope so....but also remember this is a 4 days event. Taking off from work and race toy car is not something everyone can do....but I know I will.

You really only need 2 days off at most....Thrusday and Friday...and I dont think you will be able to race or practice on Thursday? ROAR changed their format and I think you can only get on to the track Friday for practice and 1 qualifier....then 3 more quals on Saturday and then the mains on Sunday. I think this race will be well attended locally with all the offroad guys looking play on the asphalt not to mention all the normal on-road racers in the area.

Kevin I believe we will need to revert to the 4 day format for this event since we are outdoor and have limited daylight.

This is the killer, many of the people who raced VTA in the area weren't going to foot that bill for a multi day race, since VTA is supposed to be on the cheap right? Most of us that ran it did so to have an easy 2nd class.
