litespeed-dom - The downforce is really good and the car has a good balance of traction and steering. It changes directions very well I think due to the low cg and it really rolls through the center of the corner very quick. I was worried that while it looks cool, it wouldn't be able to hang with the "slot cars" currently out but it ran very well this weekend.

PizzaDude - I weighed it vs our C-LMP900 and the Speed 12 - it's 2-4 grams lighter....

Anders - I haven't tested with leaving the vents closed. If anyone did leave them closed I would recomend cutting the center two out and leaving the 2 behind the wheel wells.... This would still give you the majority of the aero the way it was meant to be used. We actually molded in quite a few ribs that you can't see in the pictures that really help stiffen up the back of the body....

Manfredo - I guess we will see how durable it is but you also have to keep in mind that the rounded nose profile provides a much better shape for hitting boards. Basically, instead of a mean "helicopter" if you turn in early, now you just bump the board and slide out wide.... It's not bad to cut out, I would definatly recomend a dremel instead of a reamer thought.... I don't know if you saw it last year but I did make a body that looked exactly like a real LMP. The problem was the weight of the body, wing mounts and wing behind the rear tire caused the car to really bounce over bumps. I know in the R/C World, looking cool is one thing but it also has to have the performance to go along with it. That's why we went with this design vs the origional one....

I am no marketing specialist-but popularity of 12th scale is on the rise in a big way I think. Champs this year-almost equal entries from TC and 12th. I should call CRC and se if sales of 12th scale kits is truly on the rise or not.

The guys on RCTech have been calling for more realistic looking bodies for some time. Look at the Protoform 3.0 thread. CEFX might be onto something that I hope is a trend the rest of the industry wishes to follow.

I will take performance over looks anydays in any racing situation, but if Parma, Protoform were to make bodies that handle (Parma Speed 8) as well as Josh's body looks-I am all for it. Personally I love the way the Speed 8 looks-but it is slammed. The old PF P35 was always ugly to me. I guess to be much more precise in what I mean-if it handles as well-but maybe has a bit more drag due to a high cnter section-or needs more wing to off set a high downforce front end-thats a trade off I'd be willing to make. Assuming everyone is running one of course!!!

I mean-RC racing is the only sport where you get to be the spectator and the driver at the same time. I'd like to see the MG/Lola next. Paul?? The open cockpit cars are a great step in the right direction.

Josh, All I can say is......... WICKED!!!! As you know, I am a huge sportscar racing fan, and that is THE MOST REALISTIC body since the peak of GTP racing. Absolutely awesome looking.

Now Paulie, get me an MG/Lola to compete with this monster!!!

Thumbs up CEFX Courage

Hey Josh;
Great new look and concept. Since we talked at the Worlds and you told me about this new body I've been curious to see how it would look and perform. It'd be great if this was the start of a trend away from "roadkill" bodies like the ones that are popular now. It's also encouraging to hear how many racers still care about having rc cars that look similar to a real (and current) race car, like you'd see racing on SPEED tv.
I hope the design holds up to impacts without distorting.

Well done Josh!

Unfortunately for us mainly 1/8th gas guys, we'll always be using wedge style "Lola" body, cause simply it works. I recall Michael Salven was working on a Cadillac LMP 1/8th body a few years back that has actua seperate wing like the real LMP counterpart, however that development never took off.

It probably will never work as good as goo ol' Lola on 1/8th, but have you ever think about venturing to 1/8th with your innovative concept, Josh?

Hey Dale why not take the ball and run with it. Why wouldnt you make a similarly accurate body to go along with Cefx's one and before you know you guys could push the industry back to realism at least where bodies are concerned.

Good looking ride Josh!!! A breath of fresh air. I am tired of looking at door stops for bodies.
