Default Another AMB Price Increase is it Fair?

AMB is raising their prices up 14% or so, I know thier the only game intown, but is there going to be any other company out their going to make these transponders? This would bring the price down and bring a little competition to the market. They raise the price like US stamps, were are they made? Can they be made cheaper? Is their a exclusive patient?
I would like to know why we are spending so much money on this, because in order to attend big races even some local you have to have a personal transponder. Is sombody getting rich on us?

I got mine for $60 or so when they first came out.

Doesn't seem fair to me, but they do have a monopoly, and it is a product that not only is in high demand, but makes things much easier on the racer.

I know that this system makes it easier for us all but why does it cost so much and why do they keep raising the price? Some of my frends
would love to have one but can afford one plus they have to pay extra to race because they don't have one is it fair?

Have you may be thought how poor the $$$ is doing against the Euro?

This is problem that's been going on for a while, and some Japanese manufacturers are raising their prices due to falling $$ against the yen.

Capitolism at it's best...the racer demands a product, therefore they supply it...
Unless people stop purchasing their product there will be no drop in price...
I am sure that most ESC, car, radio, ect companies have a large mark-up on their products...it jsut so happens that right now there is a huge demand for the transponder..therefore AMB has a chance to make some big $$$....so, in my eyesm they are doing the smart business move...and perhaps it will stir the pot enough for another company to make transponders...thats the beauty of our economy

Hogdaddy77, your predition(another lap counting system) is comming true. Granted that at this point it is only for the smaller car, the one for bigger car is in the work!!!!!!

The system is very slick and affordable. How would you like to pay $ 5.00 per transponder that do not need any power to activate it ? How does the $ 500.00 sound for the system sound for the track owner?

Check this site out http://corespeedway.com/

And does the size of about a normal bussiness card sound to you?

they have had lap counters for a long time....just ask the guys that run slot cars...
it comes as no suprise that someone else is getting in th market....
the technology behind it is simple.. a small..very small transmitted signal rx by a reciever that feeds the time to a computer....not too complicated...just wish i had the time to develop my own
