dude, of course the 3700's are going to be at least 400mAh more than ANY 3300 cells.

What some of you guys are missing is that if you keep the current gearings when using 3700, you will end the race @5 mins with way more power and juice left. That means almost full power for the whole race! Now how cool is that?

I'm sure we're all bummed with the need introduction of newer cells, but hey it's been more than 2 years with the Gp3300's already. I'd say it's been long due. Heck my 'new' PC system is obsolete the moment I bought it.

Who's to say the 3700's are going to be as low in IR or high in voltage as the current GP3300's ? They might be, but they needn't necessarily be...

And as someone pointed out, GP3300s pack as much capacity as some of the 3600s on the market, so numbers on the shrinkwrap don't necessarily mean a lot.

What's the difference between the orange/pink GP cells (Orion, Trinity) and yellow/green GP cells (SMC, Reedy)

If you are a competitive mod racer you only get about 10 good runs out of a pack before the run time starts to taper off. Ten runs later you wont make 5 min at a race pace. Stock racing is another matter. You get way more life and a pack that has been beat up by a mod racer that still has 380 sec of run time it in is probably better than any new pack you can buy. It will have better voltage than a new pack.

Stock racers will have no immediate need for these cells. Run what you got until its time for new batts. Mod racers certainly will get these cells right away...but they are always buying cells anyways.

Maybe here in the States..but for 23T 8min stock class here in Japan... I will gladly take the extra run time...

I am glad that at least until they become common place I won't need them right away.
Maybe if I go to a huge race but for my club level, there are too many budget racers that won't right away except the 7-8min heats. They will quit racing. I know I will get them only because I have the dreaded ( I have to have the lastest and greatest thing) disease. YUP it is terminal and un-reversable....Pray for me.
Thanks,
Stephen <><

You would think they could come up with another color sceme. Come on we can handle a little change.
I like what Intellect did making them all blue. At least they have little style.
Just my opinion.
Thanks,
Stephen <><

I'm ready to bet you they will not... don't make statements when you aren't sure.

Wheren't you the one saying how great Intellect 3600 are?

why not?
Yes I'm saying the Intellect cells are great, but everyone knows GP is the standard by which we compare.

You are also making a statement which you aren't sure of.

Steve Weiss has an interesting and very important point.

It's not just a question of extending race duration. Eight minute races are a very good idea, but quite a bit of thought will have to go into car preparation if one wants more speed as well as more reliability.

The motors are again going to be the weak point, but I'm sure the manufacturers won't take long coming up with something.

I'm certainly looking forward to the days of longer mod races. Eight minutes sounds about right.
