Looks like I'll be buying some new tires to practice with. I wish they had chosen Take Offs, they seem to work real well there.

The Tire is the Sorex 36 but you can run ANY insert. By ROAR Rules they have to furnish an insert with the tire, but you dont have to use it.

Any body know a good insert with the 36R on a BIG asphalpt track?? LOL

The Tires at the Carpet Nats were premounted. That is why everyone had to use what was given to them. If the tires are not premounted then the track has to issue inserts as well with the tires by ROAR Rules. Unfortunatly there is not a very good way to tech which insert you are running so that is why you dont have to use the one provided.

The Nats are in Denver, CO. July 26, 27, 28.

Here's where I just don't understand ROAR's logic. The rubber tires are supposed to save us money, but a privateer trying to be competitive at the nationals could spend upward of $1000 just trying to find the correct insert/rim combination for the race.

Spec tires aren't a bad idea, but specifying the tire, rim, and insert really would be a LOT better way to go.

Or foams, of course.

If you read Harshguy's post or use the link to the host tracks website you will see that there's a spec tire and insert. So you shouldn't be up to $1000 anymore....LOL

From what I heard, the track tested a bunch of tire/insert combinations and the inserts they are recommending are the ones that worked best.

According to EAMotorsports' post, the insert will be included, but you can run any insert you like. If the included insert is the one to use, great, but for a nationals wouldn't you test others if you're allowed to use them?
