OK Hammy - you've done fantastic in practice. don't let the pressure of being care #2 in mod TC get to you. or the pressure of being car #1 in stock TC. you can do it buddy!

that kinda depends on turnout and timeline, last year carpet nats 21.5 TC was a demo class and scheduled for a single A but was changed to triples.

ROAR doesn't approve chargers, just have a max voltage on the battery..

But they do require that any battery 2s and up to be on a balancing charger (and balance plug connected) while being charged. One of their rules updates that went into affect the first of the year.

I was at the race and there was no such rule. Never balanced all week. I hope this was a joke or you need to get your facts right.

Thanks Drew

in a subsection of the battery approval process update, dated Thursday, May 26th, 2011

"8.3.2.5.5 Batteries must be charged with chargers that have balance ports, using only the balance mode for charging, or an acceptable alternative demonstrated to the satisfaction of the President and/or Technical Director. Charging without balance mode and without a balancing harness is not permitted. Simply connecting the harness and not using the balance mode is cause for disqualification. Only 1S 1P batteries may be charged without balancing, as itís only one cell. Any packs consisting of 2P and/or 2S will require balanced charging or approved alternatives.

Balance charging ensures that each cell within the pack charges individually to full capacity. Non-balanced charging may inadvertently overcharge one cell, and undercharge the other. Under these conditions, the risk for battery failure is greater, or at least you will suffer from reduced performance."
