This is why it is 25.5 brushless motors and 1550 grams with any speedo on the sportsman list. Also note this is an Exhibition Class at this years nationals.

Please note this is just speculation on my part as I am not a member of the ROAR rules committee and am not an official for this race. Please direct all technical questions to ROAR and/or Andrew.
Thanks for the reply

I should have some more clarification on the rules for VTA and F1 soon.

As for the deviance from the rule book rules, we tried to align the VTA rules as closely as possible with the successful USVTA rules. I believe ROAR is moving away from publishing a yearly rulebook.

In other news, LiveRC has agreed to send a representative to cover the race. You can find the racing when it goes live on their events listing.

This just in.

4 mm min RH for F1
Driver figure required for VTA

I'll check with the store tomorrow and see what we have in stock that will work. If there isn't anything that will work, I will see about getting something to have on hand for the race.

Yes please, I know I don't have a driver figure(never run it at a race that required it), so all help in getting one would be appreciated....

In my search for heads, I found this and thought y'all might like something to do while you wait anxiously for the race to start!

VTA Guys-

Mike's Hobby Shop will have front and rear VTA tires and wheels in stock at the shop for Nats. I am pretty certain it will be plenty for anyone who wants.

Andrew

Well dang it. Guess I will be picking up a fighter pilot figure How do you mount the drivers in the cars if its just the head and shoulders?

Also, howw long are the VTA quals and finals? 5 and 8 minutes?

I shoe gooed part of a plastic parts tree as a stand and put the head and shoulders on it. Until I stole it for an F1 car. TQ had some driver/cockpit inserts, but in right side drive. I thought about getting on of those.

Qualifying races are six minutes, Main is eight.

Follow these rules for VTA and you can't go wrong: http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/2010rules.pdf

Hey TP, You can mount just the head and shoulders onto a piece of antenna tube. Then you can attach the bottom of the antenna tube to your chassis. I found that the best bargain on a 1/10 scale driver head and shoulders is Tamiya Part No. 0225033. However it takes over 14 days to get one of these shipped from Japan. You may be able to find some that are available in the US so it will take much less time to ship.

I saw those rules but wasn't sure if the Nats would follow since it's an exhibition class. For UF1 we run 10 minute mains but that isn't followed by ROAR so I wanted to make sure.

Diggin' the Willy's driver. I'll have to see if I can scrounge one up.

I just checked with Ray in Mike's Hobby Shop. He said that a shipment of HPI #104815 Inner Body Sets is on the way to Mike's and will be available in the store next week.

Each HPI #104815 Inner Body Set comes with 2 drivers, so you can probably split the cost of one set with another VTA racer if you choose.
