Here are some YouTube videos of F1 races from last Saturday. Everybody was racing with solid rear axles. Two cars had foam tires, the rest had rubber tires.
F1 2nd Qualifier: http://youtu.be/FWFx1x-Q-to
F1 3rd Qualifier: http://youtu.be/OkHIS4caJfo

FYI, If anyone wants they will be allowed to run stock and mod in a class. I know some people were curious.

I love the irony of that statement, combined with your sig Andrew

That race looks like it's going to be a good time.
Wish it was in the cards to attend.

Can you further explain this...does this mean that someone can run mod and stock TC?

Exactly. If you want to run mod and stock sedan or mod and stock 1/12th, there is not a restriction as there has been in the past.

Check out the Carpet Nats count-down sign on the West end of the carpet track in Mike's Hobby Shop...

This is off topic, but you guys have a dirt offroad track and a carpet onroad track in the same building, right? How do you keep the dirt away from the carpet?

The carpet track is covered with a 5600 square foot tarp when it's not being used. The grip stays fairly constant from day to day and maintenance on the carpet is done 2 to 3 times a week by Andrew Doherty and Chris Adams.

We run Pit Shimizus . PS572 for the rear and ps574 or PS577 for the front. And black can Paragon. Paragon is the only legal sauce at Mikes.

Jim, all the guys running F1 here found that Tamiya tires are worthless on carpet. Our local F1 Guru, Robert Bremer aka. "Racer Robert", has done all the research and testing on at least 8 different sets of tires and the final answer is Pit Shimizu part numbers: PS0572 and PS0577 tires are the BEST tires to hook up your F1 on carpet. So far all the F1 guys have been ordering their tires, wheels, and other parts from www.TQrcracing.com. We also use Paragon Ground Effects on all on-road tires at our track. Hope this helps.

At least ROAR finally updated their "National Race" page to reflect that the race is happening: http://www.roarracing.com/?page_id=313

It would be nice to know when registration is going to open up though...
