Didnt they make a rule change to F1 or kart series not too long ago, making the cars narrower and different tires or somthing?

I totally agree that somthing needs to be done. These cars are going WAY too fast.

With all of the recent battery technology, why arent we running 8min heats like Japan? I mean.. 6 turn motors?? i stopped running mod about 2 years ago when i put a 8x2 in my car and it wasnt fast enough...

longer heats and more accurate bodies may be a step in the right direction...

Dale,

DTM, that is the answer, those cars are way cool! All we need are a few basis guidelines like length, width, greenhouse size, and let the guys like Dale have fun and we will all be happy. If you have too many specs it will make the cars all look the same and none of want our cars to be different just because of decal placement.

You guys can't compare our association to NASCAR, if we had the money they have we could have a Tech Group that did nothing but check bodies for approval...NASCAR does. And they have a sponsor that gives them $70 million a year. We need a governing body but they pretty much have to do it for free. When you apply the 90-10 rule we have a problem. The 90-10 rule is that 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

This is why i volunteered...

I have been saying for years that I want a career in this industry. It is my whole world.. 90% of my day revolves around this crap.. the other 10% is seinfeld... (kidding) .. but i do love this... uh.. sport/hobby.. and really feel it is where i ultimately want to be.

Audi A4 DTM!!! That's what I want to see! For obvious reasons.

BTW, SpeedTV (formerly, The Speed Channel), is televising the DTM (German Touring Cars) every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. EST. Thank goodness for TiVo!!!

Okay Adrian, I'll go for that, but just what would this organization do that ROAR does not, what could it do better, and most importantly, what revenue streams would there be to keep this new entity afloat?

Regarding ROAR...The only was to fix ROAR is for people to become ACTIVE menbers. Menbers that are involved in the running of the orgnaization and vote.

If that dosen't happen (probably won't) we need a new organization. A corporation like NASCAR or the AMA (Motorcross). The goal of the organization is to promote R/C Racing in North America.

I think anyone that runs sedan runs it mostly because of cool the cars look. real life car bodies slamed to the ground. I love the way my Losi Alpha body looks.

I think foam tires where a bad answer to the out-of-control rubber tires. if you limited traction then motors and batteries are less of a factor and the actual "car" becomes more of a factor.

nice.. actually..if it was to scale it would be 4'5"

yours must be the super sized one... but then again, if he is standing on some sort of pedistal..that might be the extra few inches...

if rubber didnt cost so much and wear out so fast, I would love to run them. Infact, I used to run rubber. Untill you run a guy with a 100% tire sponsor it is actually pretty cool. Even with the partial support on rubber I had at thie time, I couldnt afford to run a new set every run to keep up with someone who could. It was one thing to have a stock pile for big races, but for club races--- never...

foams rock. They last longer, provide more traction and are cheaper. Sounds like a win win situation to me.
