M8--->Voltz killer?

Hi to all fellow racers out there,
I have a M8 which I think is great for me(a begginer).
But I despise one fact about the transmitter that is it's batteries usage.. :tire:

It drains a lot (I mean a lot)of voltz from my batts(1300mah):(
Anyone out there that has the same situation like me??

Thanks and Best Regards,
Ken:)

We just got some GP2300 AA cells in stock. I used them all day yesterday for the first time and even after a full day they are still showing 10.5 volts. Check out our website if your interested.

Try Wallmart. I got 8 for 30$CND so about 20-25$US

Energizer 2300mah nihm cells. BestBUy for some reason sells them for almost double

Last year at this time I bought Rayovac AA 1800mAh at WalMart. I have been using them steadily for a year now and charge them every other Saturday for 1 hour. They were cheap and they work good.

you will use a set of regular AA each day. buy rechargables at least 2000mah. i bought a 2 wall chargers and four batteries as a package. i bought another 8 batteries as backup. the first set of AA have lasted over a year now.

I heard somebody here in Rc tech forums use a Li-po. That could be the solution..

not only for a beginner.
But even to the level of a professional.
:D
Once you get this problem settled, don think you would ever wanna change to another controller.
I personally have been using a M8 for the past 3 years.

Yeah... better than having your controller beeping while you're in the middle of the race:lol:   that's just irritating...not only to you... but also to the guy next to you:D :D

I use the GP2100's for 2 full nights before I need to recharge them, after a year of use they are worth the money. I am sure most rechargable batts over 2000 will work well. If you use the backlight I dont know how long they will last, I rarley ever use the backlight on my transmitter.

GP just came out with 2500mah AA cells.. should last even longer! I'm running ten 2300mah cells stuffed into KO Helios. After 3 nights of racing, still at 13.5V :sneaky: Looked at LiPo, but using regular NiMh 2300 cells are cheaper, don't need special charger. And you can use Turbo 35/GFX to charge it at 1 amp for quick bumps. For M8, you should be able to stuff 9 cells in it, and get good voltage for a while.

I have been thinking of doing a 9-cell, but 10 is even better. Do you have any pix?

Hey guys I don't have an M8 but a 3PK so I don't know the battery configuration of the M8. But maybe someone can still help me with a question I have- my 3PK uses a 8-cell AA side by side config. and I want to use some of those GP2500's, how do I make my own TX packs?
