yes there are li-pol batteries out for the M8 that last a long time but there only 3 cells i think so it makes i weigh less witch is good for 1 hour+ long races

You can try to reduce the LCD contrast to the minimum. This config alone made the batteries on my M8 last a lot longer.

The other way to go is to use AA Rechargeable 2000, 2300 mAh cells.

4 more cells above 6 you see in pic.
This mod does require radio to be opened up and have ribs removed from one side in battery compartment. Then pack is hard soldered onto little circuit board where battery and charging jack is wired to. Can't take credit for this mod, other guys at the track came up with it, and copied Blue batteries are Orion's version of GP2300AA. Far as charging, you can use any TX charger plug through charging jack on radio (except JR, it's revered polarity) and use TB35 (make sure your PS goes to 14v) or, use cheap TX wall charger, and leave it on there for 2 days!

and here is GP's new 2500

You can get Energizer 2500 at Target or Walmart. Not GPs, but good enough and easier to find.
