HaHa wrong agian, Yokomo may have had the first seriously mass produced open endbell motor, BUT Jim Greenmeyer's (BIGJIM) company had the first open endbell 540 motor anyone know what the companies name was???? Team Checkpoint....... and before you ge another one wrong....lol J/K.... Orion was not the first company to have an all aluminum endbell...... that also goes to the origional team checkpoint motor....... BTW: the open endbell motor design actually came from RC's much older brother slotcar racing......

The Yokomo motor was the first seriously mass produced motor for one reason only Team checkpoint didn't have access to the materials or equiptment to do injection molding so they had to do a machined aluminum endbell because it was cheaper to do at the time for them..... so these motors ended up costing alot more to produce aside from taking alot longer because there was no such thing as computer controlled CRC machining either and in turn was probably their only major downfall.......

Read SIG before proceeding......lol J/K agian
