R/C Tech LIVE @ the 2004 ROAR Paved On-Road Nationals in Portland, Oregon
Hi all,
We just got in this morning to the track here at the Holiday Inn near the airport in Portland, where practice is underway for the 2004 ROAR Nats.
Thankfully, I have high speed internet at the hotel, which means I should have no problem getting pictures and timely results to all of you.
I will keep everybody posted on what's going on, most everybody showed up in the last few hours and it's open practice until 9 PM tonight.
And BIG thanks go to Xtreme R/C Cars magazine, who are footing the bill for me to come to events like this. If you guys are looking for racing coverage and racing support, look no further than XRC.
Go subscribe!
I will post more later. Enjoy!

One of the first big rumors I can dispel is that both Team Losi and Associated are running their normal cars, and not new models as many people continued to speculate about.
The turnout is about average, 170 or so entries, nothing spectacular. Everybody should get plenty of track time as a result.

I was not here for regionals, but I am told it is the same track design, yea.
I will double check with someone.
RC-Mitch: No webcam for this one, unfortunately. I have net access in the hotel room but nothing down near the track.

I hope it is not the same track design from anything. This is the ROAR Nationals and it should be a fresh layout.

Kraig: I dunno, I am signed up but I didn't even bring my stuff out today, I pulled dual 14-hour days at the office on Thursday/Friday to get the magazine out the door and I am still just plain beat. I will see if I can get some track time later, but man, I haven't run a race since the Carpet Nats!
robk: The track is actually a pretty decent distance from the hotel, this is a *huge* Holiday Inn (and one of the nicest ones I've seen, even nicer than the one in Cleveland) and the parking lot area is like a few football fields. They have actually been very welcoming to me and are helping with the coverage, it should be good.
Hodapp: I have to agree, it should be a fresh layout that no one has run.
