Sorry, I should have been more specific. It's the one that goes under the ball stud for the front of the shock. Hopefully the attached picture makes sense. Seeking to understand what effect raising or lowering it would have.

On a different note, I'm losing grip at the rear on the high speed sweeper. Looks like an aero problem - the car is quite balanced elsewhere on the track. I'm currently running the F104 Pro body and wondering if the F60 rear wing will be better or if I should mount a diffuser. Is there something else I should be looking at?

In practice raising the shock up there should increase steering on power because the shock is more linear...

High speed grip loss on sweepers?

Check that your ride height at center isnt so low that it's knicking the ground right at the swivel mounts.
Also might want to use black side springs (super soft). What rear tires are you using?

Make sure you've got your rear ride height lower or the same as the front.

Will Hudy's balancing tools work with the F1R Chassis?

The F1R chassis does have centering holes in the chassis that can be used with the Hudy balancing tool.

What set up are you guys that are running on asphalt (w/rubber tires) using? Currently I'm using Pit 71/72 combo, and I lacking steering on corner entry. Everywhere else on the track is fine. I've only been running the car for about 3 weeks with very good results on carpet, but was wondering if there were any tricks needed for the asphalt.

Good tire choice

Go with softer front springs and more front sauce. You might also use the Exotek servo mount option http://www.exotekracing.com/f104-bolt-in-servo-mounts/
Be sure to double up the springs on the Tamiya servo saver also.

WOW! Just added that to my NEED TO BUY list!!!! MikeR...your killing me man!

This only works with the f103LM front bumper right? My F103GT chassis is MUCH wider at the front, and uses a smaller bumper.

BTW...a special mount for GoPro cameras that fit to the chassis would be nice...hint hint....

Edit: for reference; the bumpers and chassis are different:

F103GT: http://www.competitionx.com/pdf/vehi...3gt-manual.pdf

F103LM: http://www.competitionx.com/pdf/vehi...3lm-manual.pdf

This is the bumper you will need, but shows discontinued on the Tamiya America website:
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=50828

Edit: Part code shows it as a F103GT bumper, not an LM...Weird

Ninja Edit: This has good potential:

Damm it's tempting to pick up an F1R and whack a 103 front end on... need the big battery for 30min finals!
