Pushing a vehicle to 100mph is not an easy task for the electronics. I wouldn't skimp out in that area. Get a solid setup from Castle or Tekin.

Its not just the motor and esc. Gearing, battery, tires etc will all play a role in getting it to 100mph.

rccar action made a vorza go 100mph. its not the same car or chassis, but they used IMEX trued foams, MMM, and a high kv motor. you will also need to have as much radio range as possible to get up to speed. i scanned the article into a PDF, if you would like it, PM me your email address and ill send it too you.
they used the foams because the tires expanded to different sizes at about 80mph and caused massive crashes.

I was curoiious about the fast runs done by Tekin etc. Why didn't they use an oval track? Too bumpy at that speed?

Cos' he wants to. Why do any of us have any RC stuff? I'm sure boring money concious people would tell us we are daft in the head for spending so much but we do it anyway cos' its fun. I think it'd be cool to try and get my buggy up to 100mph. Cool project one day...

I made a Tamiya M04 go 73 mph with an 8.5t combo from Hobbyking on 3s. They'll have something that'll work for you.

Better work on the aerodynamics too. Very important. Many standard RCs will simply lift off before reaching those kind of speeds.
