The center mark is 30 degrees. So two past that would be +16 degrees. So 46 degrees of timing.

P.S. I am still waiting for confirmation that each notch is 8 degrees.

Thank you for all your help. I will wait for the response.
46 degrees is a lot of timing , seeing that some other motors
just being released only come with 20* timing ( MMM ) ect.

The MMM is up to +20* timing on top of whatever the motors "0" timing is. Which I believe is lower than Trinity's 30 degrees, but is still not actually 0 timing.

EA, my source for the 8*/tick is Billy Bruce, but I know you might have someone with more knowledge of the motor design.

The SP has 30 built in plus an additional 20 degrees for 50 total.

So the RevTech has additional timing of 30*( which can be set on the motor end-bell ) . Hope I am correct now

If there are 4 ticks past the neutral tick then you can add 32* more past the stock (neutral) 30*.

Yes you are correct. When 0 is set to the 5th mark (middle mark) this is= to 30 degrees.Btw you can use SP V3 boards in these motors,so 0 degree will be in the correct place, they fit and work very well

okay, i can't just stand by and do nothing ..

motor design?? it's a simple 9th grade geometry problem. someone please grab a pair of calipers and post the necessary dimensions so we can solve this and move on. (i'll even show my work.)

(hint: correlate the circular diagram below to the endbell when looking at the motor from the back.)

Yea if I had a motor sitting here on my tool box you are correct it would be simple. But being as I dont I have to ask others to make sure the correct info is being posted. Ive never had to measure because I dont go by how many degrees are in the motor. I just set it till its fast and doesnt fall off.

Thanks Professor Goetz!

You should be more careful. They might accuse you of sitting on something and then run with it from there! LOL

yeah, i hear you. i think the thread makes it appear a lot worse than it is. none the less, $70 and a hotel room for 3 days is a big $ to pay to run a few quals with a few buds while your family has dinner w/o you. that part i get.

next question: grand rapids?

Default My Scientific Method

Non Ramping Touring Car

Timing Max

Gear till the sticker starts to peel off then drop one tooth! You have now hit the motors sweet spot!

Always have a spare too!
