Default Glitching ONLY in Reverse

So I am new to this RC thing and have gained valuable insight from many folks. Recently I just finished building my first VTA car.

1. Novak Ballistic 25.5T Motor
2. Novak Edge ESC
3. Savox SC-1258TG Servo
4. Airtronics MX-Sport radio + FHSS-2 3-Channel 2.4ghz receiver
5. Venom 5000mah 50C 2S Lipo

After some trial and error and rereading the manuals for the ESC and radio, I was able to reduce the speed of reverse. After I initially got the car working, whenever I hit reverse, it would just go FULL SPEED REVERSE. Going forward I could control the speed as normal. I discovered that I misread the Airtronics instructions and now can dial the reverse to lower speeds. And so I thought that I was good to go.

But... now I see 2 problems. I've never personally experienced "glitching" so I'm guessing this is what it means.

Problem #1
Now occasionally after I brake and the car comes to a full stop, it won't reverse. Sometimes it will reverse. Other times I have to push the radio trigger 1-2-3... times and THEN it reverses. Sometimes it just reverse when I want it to. The Edge ESC came with that capitor to help reduce glitching and I even tried plugging it into the receiver but that doesn't seem to help.

Problem #2
Sometimes, when trying to reverse, I notice the main wires and the small capitor-like device that is attached to the ESC vibrate - and makes a odd "snapping" sound.

Thanks for your help.

it could be that your esc needs to be recalibrated to the radio.

set your channel 2 throttle endpoints/travel to 100% forward reverse then follow novaks calibrating instructions.

also, if you're racing, you should turn reverse off anyway.

see if that helps?

After several trial & error, I was able to get this working. Sure enough. When I tried callibrating throttle/reverse, I pushed/pulled the trigger too fast and the ESC didn't register things correctly. I then tried it and slowly pulled for throttle. Put it back to "neutral," then proceeded to push for braking.

Now all is fine. Lesson learned.
