Default 26mm or 28mm for carpet racing?

Hi guys...I am going to begin running indoor carpet at the new track they are building here. I was wondering what most of you guys run, 26 or 28mm foams, and what brand in particular. I'd like to get set up before the track opens. Thanks for any info.

At our track we run 28mm foams. I personally run Jaco. Purple/orange in the front and purple in the rear for stock and pink/orange in the front and double pink/purple in the rear for modified. Many guys like the TRC's as well...not sure on the color combo.

Default 28mm

Parma makes some 28mm foam tires. It is the same foam as the TRC's, but the rim is much stronger. Their tires worked very well at the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland over Thanksgiving weekend!

Purple and Plaid
Magenta and Cyan

These are the equivalents to the Jaco's that were mentioned above.

28mm tires can be run on an XXX-S. Use associated hex adapters and limit your steering throw slightly. In fact I'm willing to bet that almost every Team Losi driver ran 28mm foams on their car.

What manufactuer's make 26mm tires? Ive looked around breifly and have only found 28mm. The reason I ask is that I am going to run my 415 on foam and would rather just bolt on a set of 26mm instead of cutting down 28mm tires.

Thanks

danjan

PS: Otherwise its 28mm Double Pink/ Orange and Purples on my TC3

26mm tires are for the front of a nitro sedan. The foam used in nitro tires and carpet tires is not the same. Nitro sedans use 26mm fronts and 30mm rears.

I use Fast Tires, 26mm 42 Shore fronts and 30mm, either 35 or 37 shore, for the rears.... I tried the Orange/Purple and Dbl Purple Jaco combo and the car just slid all over....

Default 26 or 28mm

Speedie,
I agree with your second statement, i mostly agree with your third however i have seen28's on the front of nitro sedans.I dont think your first statement is right. TRC carpet foams are 26mm. I have a set of 26mm orange/purple fronts and purple rears on my tc-4 now and have a whole box full of 26mm carpet foams.
I guess it is possible my lhs is still running through old stock and trc has changed, but as far as i know they still make them at 26mm.

Wow your right I was alwayse going by Jacos list. They have 28mm for carpet and 26-30mm for nitro. TRC thier site is old and outdated but they show 26-30mm. I measured the TRC carpet tires I use they are actually 27mm. The Jacos I have are 28mm. BSR lists 24-26mm foams no 28's or 30's. Orion also has only 26-30mm. Parma are 28's as well. Speedmind has 28mm carpet tires and nitro tires 26-30mm. Most seem consistant on width accept for TRC and BSR. And some dont have seperate tires for outdoor and carpet.

Glad to help out Don't forget the color combos
I like the traction I get & is one of the most used combos @the local track.

The jacos seem to be the current tire of choice lately. With the Cyan/Magenta combo being the prefered one. It is supposed to provide more overall grip but less side bite than the purple/plaid combo
