Default 1/16 scale onroad, whats out there?

a local track is running the 1/16 traxass rally cars on a carpet oval, is there any other brand that makes a car that could run with them?

i'm no fan of rtr's but if the class gains populartiy i would like to run in the class with something comparable.

so what options are out there?
is 1/18 too small to run with them?

thanks.

no one has an opinion?

i find that hard to beleive. all rc'ers have an opinion. lol

the class is open 1/16, so anything close in size, preferalbly 4wd would be cool.

i just have zero onroad knowedge, help me out fellas.

I think your best bet is since its a spec class would be to run the Traxxas; they are pretty unique and rather fast too so I dont know what would match up well.

yup rch&m.

i have a m03 fwd mini cooper that i'll run, we have a few guys wanting to run the mini coopers, but i want to run in the 1/16 4wd class too, i just don't care for traxxas and like to be different.

there's got to be some sort of race bred chassis that fits in with those cars.

it's not spec it's open.

I've been running the 1/16 traxxas, its a blast there's quite a few tricks to make them handle better. There very durable and it makes for some fun racing. If you go with the 1/16 traxxas Stormer hobbies has the truck for $199.

guys, i understand that the traxxas car handles fine, and i'm not out to get something that will out class them, i just would like to try something different.
if i end up dead last it's fine with me, i'm just out to have fun as well.

that said i was a the track sunday and had a chance to look at the traxxas, there was also a hpi "true 10" cup racer there. the cars are the same size.
so i may try one of those.
