Unless you know your stuff, you could easily buy a lemon if buying a used car. It would have been thrashed: ie raced & crashed for the last (say) 1-3 years. It will need some worn parts replaced.

Id say Sakura S rather than JR10e
I just bought one, for a fun car (basher)
Parts are rediculously cheap. Possibly more modern design than the Ofna.

Another cheap option would be a Xray 2008 . I still have one, its now worth almost nothing, cant sell it. (but still a very very good car)
Or a used TC5.

The Xrays are really tough, nothing much will break , except belts (from small stones etc)
I also just bought a used Xray 2011. (for a race car)
It IS STILL NOT a cheap car, they are VERY strong, but can be very expensive to maintain.

Please, no-one suggest a TT01. Its a toy.

Do not buy TT01!!! As someone else said, it's a toy, and you will quickly realize that and end up selling it. Check out the TB03 or TA05(www.speedtechrc.com), they are only about $120-180 new and they are way more race worthy than a TT01. Also, the Sakura Zero S is a really good car, it has the flat double deck chassis which can compete with some of the higher end cars (Xray, TC6/5, TRF, etc).

Sakura is the cheapest top racing chassis for sure, parts are easily found and cheap, a chassis you can use for fun racing, drift and serious competition.

Forget about Tamiya, parts can be expensive in the long run.

And you can get a Sakura second hand with plenty spares for the price of a new one.

+1 to these and add,

LRP Blast TC Clubman $80-120 and
Schumacher Mi1 $165 from Amain

I drive the LRP's but is i was to do budget all over again i would definatly get the 3Racing Sakura Zero S $102 from RCmart HongKong, buy 2 and ahve a full supply of parts.
