Who can make a fast motor!?!?!?!?!?
motor building./.tuning..
anybody got secrets..tips..ways to make a trinity monster based handout FAST! but stay legal.... so far what i want to do is cut it... use reedy 767 brushes with a cavity drilled in them... purple springs on both - and + sides. |
you probably want to shim the arm properly and use some lube on those bushings. anything else guys?
|
Try Hurricane Golds. They make for mad rip, but they are also a little harder on the comm. Expect to rebuild after 3-4 runs.
|
Maybe align the brush hoods, teflon shims on the ends, toothpaste the bushings, it's all on here http://www.motortuningsecrets.com/

I've heard that those new paradigm brushes really rip! havn't tried them yet though. As far as tuning....you really have to experiment with stuff. I've been known to make some real screamers....I'm not so much of a fan of mod....but I sweat the stock motors. that website is great for the tuning process. Brushes and spring tuning really comes with track time and if you have one, dyno results.

there is a lot of tricks you can do to a stock motor to give it some rip...
the most important rule.. Clean = Fast! i take the brush hoods apart and clean the spots where the brush rides with a fibreblass pen... lots of other things too... |
There are a lot of variables, you gotta do trial and error for that certain track, you may need springs for torque or for rpm, then try different brushes reedy 767's seem popular, teflon shimming, bushing lubs, comm drops, but stick with the same exact gearing till it wont accelerate or get more top speed then mess with the gearing.

I CAN !!!:D :D
if it dont burn ..:sneaky: :sneaky: |
team balls
the hype was all about team balls this weekend in cleveland. they had multiple motors in the bmains, and one in the a prior to the last round.
talk to buddyb here on rctech. as he puts it best, "win or get wiener punched." |
CRC Brushes are good
Putnam as well :sneaky: Reedy 767 Zap 19 (not sure if there for stock, i know there great for 19t and i think they should be good in stock as well) Shim motor You can try some lubes too (tribo i heard was ballastic and other lubes for brushes or bushings/bearings) Align Brushhoods Try to clean motor almost every run so you can get any grit out clean is fast Green/Red combo are very good on monsters, i feel purples all around are very hard on the comm. (green all around is good as well) You can go to Bigjim forums he has ALOT of motor tips. Hope it helps Jon |
get a d6 flatliner with the highest silver atlas waffle face brush u can find........omg its fast
