Sounds like one of them was tested on the Robitronics dyno(the one with higher numbers), & the other was likely tested on Fantom's dyno. Trinity made the switch a couple of years ago(though there could still be some of the older motors out there, especially from places like Tower) to the Fantom dyno, & they just test a slightly different way(including the default voltage they test at, the Fantom I think does it at 6 volts, while the Robi's default voltage setting is 7.5, & more volts=more motor power, rpm, etc.). Makes it pretty hard to directly compare, but from my experience, both sound like they're ok, & both should run similarly well, so don't sweat it....

And before they used Robi they used Turbo 45's... none of those Dyno's will spit out the same numbers.

In defense of Tower Hobbies they state that those numbers are optimal figures. Numbers will vary between batches. We all know that every production motor isn't the same as the others.

Tower just sells them. Unless its their brand, than its up to Trinity. And, like some other posts mention, it could be tested a different way; like a different dyno.

Yes, believe me, I have no doubt that the numbers Tower is quoting is from when Trinity used the Robitronics dyno(I know because I have the Robi dyno myself), & Tower just never bothered to change the numbers in their listing of that motor to reflect Trinity's change.

Because those numbers were from a Fantom dyno. Tower's numbers are from a Robitronics, so it is useless to compare the numbers.

Right, if you took those 2 motors right now & tested them on the exact same dyno, you'd most likely get almost identical numbers(assuming both are in the same condition). It's not the motors, it's the dyno they're tested on....
