It should really spead things up, plus I will not have all of my eggs in just one basket. I am also hoping that the vendors will come through soon so that I am not making everything by hand. I know that many have their hopes that Santa will drop a kit under your tree, but it's looking like there might be some rain checks for the time being. The good news is that Paypal is set up and a web site is on the way. Things ought to just go crazy when they throw the switch on that thing. I can post current set ups for both stock and mod on the site. Plus you will be able to order from it. In the meantime, we can work out of rctech.
Brian
Hey Brian,
Keep up the good work, by the way what is the website, lol. Sorry

On another note, Mike Street qualified in the A as well with the MS2.2 in his first race out.

I must say, the Spanker has helped take Dom's game to the next level and beyond. It has also done wonders for Mike a long time "B" mainer is now on his way to the next level.

Both cars looked fast and smooth at our last club race. Many racers are taking notice.

So far it looks like the MS can take a beating and keep on crankin' out fast laps. More than I can say for some of the "other" hybrid cars.

"Spank that Monkey" is the new catch phrase when the MS's are on the track.

Great....

If anyone is wondering what Wes is talking about, the name of the car is the MS2.2; the MS stands for the Monkey Spanker. My wife hated it, but all the racers loved it. So I just abrieviated it. Ray Jarivis actually came up with the name several years ago. I took the Slapmaster name from Chris White back in the day when he was doing truck testing for Traxxas in the early 90's. So there you have it, a brief history of Slapmaster Tools and the Monkey Spanker 2.2. I have another great name for another car given to me by Dave Clark, but I need to create that ride still: "Chicken Yanker" ! I can see the product line up now or at least the product listing in a A Main line up in a mag.

I should have some fairly entertaining t-shirts on there way, too!

That is true, my car took a beating in the Main and everything is still looking perfectly fine, but my body is all jimmyed up!

Default outdoors?

I am afraid to take the car out doors. It doesn't have a leash and it might run away. Truthfully, I have never turned a single lap on the asphalt in a 12th scale car. I really don't know how it would do. But I have some Kevlar in the back shop mixed with Carbon. The kevlar is dyed this electric blue, like and LRP blue. I laid up a chassis out it "once" and the laughed my butt off. I couldn't cut it out!!! The joke was that I could take a .22 at close range or race out doors. I guess that I could strategically lay out pieces of this kevlar into the mold so that I don't have to cut through it, then it could act like skid pads on the corners. Ah.... what am I sayin'? That would be the extra special order, high zute, godzilla version. I will try to find a pic of the stuff, it's really cool looking.

I have about 15 on back order. At this point, it will be the first of the year.

Unless I can stop sleeping.....

Brian,

There was a guy I know building an airplane (real one) that was using some kevlar in it. I know that he had to buy a special cutter for it. He was able to work it after it was set. Might see if I can find the info from him.

On a side note I would like to announce that there is at least one Monkey Spanker racing in Canada. This has got to be one of the best cars out of the box ever. Once the tires were broken in the car just kept asking to be driven harder into the coners and it did not disappoint. Now I just can't wait to take this car back to Rain City and see how it goes down there.

Just got my thrust sets from Slapmaster....very sweet! Thanks again for the super fast service. After getting them on the car I would say that every 12th scale racer should run them!

Thanks again,

Jeff

Default New MS

Nick, glad to hear that you got the car built and out on the track. Yea, new tires!!! Wow, isn't that I ride? Keith has 6 on b/o. Look out!

Jeff, I think that I sent you some delrin sleaves to experiment with on the thrust bearings, maybe? Did you build up with the delrin or the aluminum? I have yet to have time to do a full demo test on the delrin sleaves, but if you can get away without using a cone washer, then it's one less piece. Don't try and cheat and use a plastic nut now! You put more force on the diff nut and the plastic one will fail and cost you a run.

Thanks for the good review, now I need to get back to making more cars!

I just saw this thread, cool name. Probably the only car Rick James would have driven.

Default kit update

Kansas... I have been working my tail off of these things. Unfortunately... it's not the stuff that moves out the doors. I have been refining molds since Turkey day and I am really pleased with the way chassis are coming out. The bad news is that my vendors wont be able to come through for me now until the 14th of Jan. This will be plenty of time for Snowbirds and Nats. In the meantime, I will continue to produce kits by hand until all of my parts show. This is a slow process and I may have to bring in some help just to speed things up. I do property management as well and things are busy on that side too. I am going to sign up for Snowbirds, this will be my first time at a big electric race running backwards. I am sure that 20+ years of driving the right way will be no problem going the wrong way! But at least I will get to rub shoulders with everyone. I am putting a small team together of some local NW drivers. With any luck, we'll stick a few cars into the A's. In the meantime, if I email you back and say that I have a car with your name on it, don't waste any time as my list is getting longer ever day. But really, thanks for your patients. Happy Holidays, everyone!
