A track here in Ohio uses sugar water. They put it in a vegetable sprayer. Seems to work pretty well. Zip Free and TQ Mod (purple can) seem to work best for traction compunds....

Sugar water or soda work, but for the best traction you could use VHT or NeoTac traction compunds. They're made to be sprayed on the track and they really bring the grip up dramatically.

At the 2000 ROAR nats in Dallas, they used VHT on the surface, and the grip was so high that you could lose your sneakers if you tried to change directions quickly while marshaling.
