Questions about a team associated tc3

Hello friends,

I was curious if anyone knows how much a "team kit" TC3 was when they were brand new. I am considering buying one for the VTA class. Would this be a good one for the job and what is a reasonable price for a new team kit. I know someone who still has one in the box that is willing to sell for $150. Is that too much? Any help is appreciated.

Well I have seen used rollers on here for btwn 65-80..... subtract about 10-15 for shipping.... puts you at about 50-60 used.... I would offer him 100 but prob pay no more than 120....

TC3... no..... But have owned a NTC3 for over 5 years! I want a drifter so I am either going TC3 .... or maybe converting one of my extra NTC3s to an EP conv...

at 150 it is a bit much, especially you will need to get some extra parts, but they are cheap enough and plentiful, you might upgrade for IRS or Asiatees aluminium parts, but it is a really nice chassis to drive, mine is over 10 years old now and still goes well with a 10.5t LRP and HW speedo.

For $75-100 today, on a top notch used TC3, you should be getting two years worth of spare parts. Any more money or any less parts and you're being robbed.

You can source them all day long on eBay for under $100, most in amazing condition.

$150 in today's dollars for a virgin, mint TC3 puts it in collector territory. Once you start to get finger prints on things, the value (if any) goes down quickly.

Seriously, if you're going to race one, get a cheap one, they're as common as blades of grass.

I agree with most of what's been said, but if you're talking about the brand new-in-the box car on eBay right now, it was relisted with a lower starting price and the auction ends in 15 hours. It didn't get any bids at $135 or the BIN price of $150 because both were too high. But $125 shipped for a new one that you can put together yourself for the first time isn't bad. I paid around $200 for mine around 1999 and they went down slightly from there. I've since bought many others at price points under a $100 but never brand spanking new. It's kind of nice to put it together yourself. What I'm saying is, it wouldn't be a source of shame to pay a little more for a brand new one. You just don't get that opportunity that often. They make great VTA cars with the right tuning. Just one a trophy race with mine last weekend against some pretty tough competition.
