PLZ help - Novak Millennium or Millennium Pro Charger?
I am getting back into sedan racing and I need to get a new charger that doesn't cost a lot of money...
I wanted to know if there is much of a difference between the Novak Millennium and the Pro version. I can get the older one for a lot less but I don't want it if it will not work well with 3000 and 3300 cells.
Should I spend the extra money and get the pro or would the Millennium be fine?

Pro...
if you buy the 1.2v you'll always be wondering "what if I bought the Pro version" eventually you'll end up buying the Pro.
If you can find a CDC charger, get that instead. It has more features for a little more money.

I had a losi truck a long long time ago (1994 or so...)
A few years ago I got a TC3 and a did try off road with a B4 for a month, but sold them and all my stuff after my job made me work every race day! I got a new job and a new on-road track opened up and I just bought a TC4!
Anyways back to the chargers... Anyone have any thoughts and/or reasons to pick one over the other?

Get the Pro version! You can adjust the delta-peak lower than on the first version of the Millennium. Most people agree on that 48mV, which is the lowest setting on the first version, is too high for NiMH.

You can go as low as 4mV per cell on the original millenium which is 24mV, NOT 48mV.
I have always used it without any problems with my Gp3300.
The only added value on the Pro is the delayed charge, multiple charge profiles and a special NiMh2 program.

K here's the TRUTH and experienced Knowledge of the 2 charger's.
The Reason the pro had to be brought out intially is that with Panasonic 3000nimh and the 1st edition Sanyo's the Setting needed to be 2mv/c-3mv/c which is lower than the 1st mill can go.
Since the newwer Sanyo 3000's worked with 5mv/c-7mv/c the regular Mill Worked Great on those.
For GP3300's most guys use 4-5mv/c to charge with.Which is fine.
Here's where your problems occur.If you want to peak your pack after it sits for more than 15 minutes you would usually wanna peak at 1-2mv/c and with the Regular Mill you CAN NOT do this.
Also with NEW cells approaching you may need lower than 4mv/c for even the intial charge like you did on the older Panasonic's and Sanyo's.
If you have GP3300's and you know you will be using them pretty fresh after they have charged for their best performance then the Regular Millineum is FINE.But if you let you packs sit and want the BEST performance you will need to Peak and You will need a MILL PRO to go lower than 4mv/c to Peak.
If on a Budget and just starting racing the Regular Mill will be fine for the 1st few months.When it comes time that you think your batteries are slowing you down I would then search for another charger to Peak With.
Take the money you save and buy a quality Discharger and Tray to take care of your Nimh.

Also, the Millennium Pro has savable nameable profiles so you don't have to reset the charger if you have different types of packs to charge.
Also, the charger has our new NiMH2 mode. It doesn't use voltage threshold to determine peak, it's a truely NiMH dedicated mode. It will take much better care of the packs "Long term".

Well, our experience has been the oposite. The NiMH2 mode usually keeps the packs cooler then voltage threshold charging.
