Hi guys! Maybe you can help.

I've tried charging my AA batts for my TX with the Cellmaster. But the CM doesn't charge it right. I set the CM to 8 cell, 0.9A, 03 Threshold. But my AA batts does not finish the charge and false peaks everytime. My batts are GP-2600 and they are new. I've tried charging them with LRP Pulse Competition 2 and the batts charges well with it. However, my 3800s and 4200s charges with the CM with no problems. I just wonder why it doesn't do the right charging for my AA batts. How do you guys set up your CM for AA charging?

Hoping for some answers. Thanks!

Your delta peak is way too low. Remember the CM delta peak numbers are for the PACK and per cell as most other chargers are. Turn up the delta peak and this should solve your problem.

Using the battery heatsink, I set it to either 06 or 07 in hot weather.

AA packs are not matched and have much more resistance in their connections, which causes a lot of voltage fluctuation at the beginning of the charge. The CM has the ability to be super-low on the delta peak settings, so it can false peak if you use a low delta peak setting when the voltage is jumping around. You either have to set a higher delta peak or actvate the long lockout. I charge AA packs like this:
1.5amp linear
07 delta peak
43deg temp cut
If the pack is relatively close to dead, I'll set the long lockout to 15 minutes.

The CM can charge them, but only at a maximum of 1A. Orion recommends a maximum of 4.8A for the Platinum and 3.2A for the new Race-spec carbon edition.

Not for LiPo. My CTX is getting sold since it's worthless for LiPo. You probably want the Ice if you need a decent charger to do NiMH and LiPo. It's not quite as nice as the CTX, but it's cheaper, does a lot of great things, including LiPo. The failure to include this feature in the CTX (above 1A) seems brain-dead from a company as cutting-edge as MuchMore.

For the record, it will charge your LiPo packs, but it will take about 18 years to complete a charge at 1 amp.
