if i'm charging my NiCD batteries, how do i determine what "flex charge" setting should i use?

it seems 9 is best for the battery? or am i wrong?
will there be any performance difference between setting 1 and 9?

Default check the terminal

Nick,

Please check output terminals if they have bad connection.
If the conection between terminal and nut, it may cause heat and blow.

Please check then let me know the result.

When my friend used his for the first time everything was ok. Second time he used it with only one charger on (Futaba CDR-5000) the fuse blown up after of almost 10min charging time.
When he checked the power supply he found out the the 2 output circuits were fried (7QA 7N80 is what their label on them).
When he changed them with new one and he plugged in the charger (without charging) it was ok. He left the power supply on without any charger it was ok. When on another day, he hooked up another charger the fuse blow up again!

Any ideas what will be the problem and any solution to solve this ?

Thank you

Nick

That is kind of program bug,
Please set capacity limit 250mAh which will not be changed and also work well as repeak charging capacity.

When you have that kinda trouble, please cehck the voltage of battery on the display LCD. If it shows 13.XXX(suppy volt), it is bad connecion as Keith cosulted you.

If you have any consious on your battery's connection, re-solder all battery bars. then try charge again.

Thanks,

Slightly off topic, but I have a motor master v3.0c....at snowbirds, the display just freaked out....the unit still works, if you can figure out what setting it is on by look at an angle, but all the display just shows blocks in different shades (hence why you can kinda read it, if you look at it angle)...

Any idea what this is or do I just need to send it in for repair......

Please regard Long lock out as insurance against False peak.
At the beginning of charge(approxi. from start to 20min.), voltage may drop or be unstable.
Long lock out will not make any false peak.

---------------------------------------------
Here is another tip for LLO

If you set LLO 20min,
you apply LLO after 3min.of charging,

LLO will act 17min. from now.
---------------------------------------------

Do not apply LLO for charged battery.

Temp cut off funtion has priority than peak cut, capacity cut, long lock out etc.

Temp cutoff >Delta peak cut>Capacity cut

Thanks,

Ryan

Will the temperature cut off always work, regardless of other settings? ( of course, the temp probe should be mounted )

Default Freaked out LCD

Sorry to hear that,

I think LCD demaged(or bad connection), need replacement of LCD.
Please ask LHS where you bought to.
We guarantee Motor master 120 days from the purchase.
If you have receipt to prove purchase date, pls send them all to LHS.

Thanks,

Ryan

Default Flex

Even us have not been tested much of Flex for old NiCD batteries.
But I found Flex 9 worked well for old Sanyo 3000 or NiCD.
I set F9 until 500mAh for old batteries.

9 has the highest intensity.

Please try several settings for old NiCD.
It is not so easy to have "old NiCD samples" .. as hard as very new one!

Thanks,

Thanks. I dont have the Cell Master (if I can sell my current charger ... ), but I found in the manual, that the LLO is optional, when you start the charging

Default llo function

Ryan,
I dead short my GP3300's, and currently using the CTX mode. but if I charge with the standard peak function, they false peak over and over. I have the llo option on 20 minutes. But the problem is this, you say the window of 3 minutes it is not engaged, this is when you need it the most. Is there a way to start the lockout when you hit start for charging?

I believe you have to hit the start button for at least 2 seconds... But I dont have the charger myself, so I'm not sure, I've just read the manual...

Some clarification about this, will be really appreciated
