hmm...i wonder why this kit isn't as popular as some of the other ones...i've been doing some research into a nice drifting car...and this one is right up there with the best of them...but...for some reason...there isn't a whole lot of people "talking" about it...is it because it's over 5 large?...

some of the yokomos are over 5 large also...but yet there's plenty of people talking about those chassis...

so why is this chassis not all that popular?

Don't see a thread for the non-pro version, so here I go...

Santa just dropped the ms-01d chassis under my tree. Wish I had money for the pro... Had the first test run, and hit the first issues. Any ideas appreciated.

- vibrations near full steering lock, seems to be on the outer wheel (relative to the turn). Read this is normal with front spool and single joint cvd's which are not really constant velocity. Damage control: added some ackerman, ball diff is not in stock for now. Also reduced caster and set camber to 0. Should I wait for the ball diff, or are there any dcj's (double joint cvd) that fit and don't cost an arm and a leg?

- rear belt touches the motor (redline 10.5T - a bit fat this motor, 26T pinion, 88T spur). Not rubbing but touching, slight mark on the outer side of the belt after 1.5 hours of fun. Should I get a bigger spur (like 92T, as it seems motor has too much kV)? Or should I try and tension the belt a little more?

Murdock, thanks for good review of MS-01 Pro and cool building process!

I think I was able to get a good understanding of the model.

I wanted to rehash this thread. I just picked one of these up and I am super psyched to start running it. I am taking a step back from the FXX RWD and going back to CS for the fun of it. Anyone else running this chassis?
