Another FANTASTIC Classic, and a great kickoff to the MWGS. Nobody can cram as many dudes in one place as the Gate crew.

Agreed. It was great hanging out again.

Lots of meat balls and hot dogs were sold this weekend.

Congrats to all the winners.

One thing I learned at the Gate this weekend was this....

If you wear white linen pants don't stand by the window.

Goetz's enthusiasm for RC is inspiring. I vote for Chris Goetz as the official ambassador of RC.

Great weekend, everyone did an awesome job getting through tech and to the line on time, 82 heats run on Saturday in 13 hours, I think we may have set a record As always, an awesome weekend with some very close racing.

Official #'s 103 bodies, providing 179 entries for 28 qualifying heats, and 22 mains, 13 straight hours of Gayte style racing on Saturday, Goetz 1 Wise 0 for the weekend, Canadians 3 U.S. 0 in T/C Mod

Sorry about the lack of updates over the weekend,, the Gate does not have internet access and after a 19 hour day, I don't think too many guys were worried about the internet at the hotel.
If Dirla does't beat me to it I'll post the main results this eve after work.

Thanks for putting this race on. I had a great time at my second classic. I learned a few things.

1. Dont let Hanulec talk you into crazy stuff. After driving through the night we got to the track at 7am saturday. So far i've slept 8 hours in the last 3 days.

2. Dont wear linen pants while going commando even at a place like the Gayte.

I wonder what i'll learn in 2012.

I want to say one thing and ask one thing

1)im sorry to the race organizers who helped fit me in to the entry list and then not make the race. I'm learning the hard way wives and babies can throw wrenches into alot of situations at the last second. Sorry again and wish i was there

2)was the person in the white linen pants by the window and Male or Female?

Especially backlit by the sun! I'm glad my pits faced the back of the building.

You're not supposed to wear white after Labor Day. Is that how the old saying goes?

Yes. It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again.

Big thanks goes out to Ken Miller and the gang at The Gate for putting this race on. Considering the attendance, we were able to leave at a reasonable hour both on Saturday and Sunday ... which was a blessing since we have a long ride home to Canada. Had a lot of fun in the pits sitting next to Goetz - I think he touched me once though so does that count as an initiation? The rumours about the Sydor Slam are 100% true... I heard it throughout the night at the hotel - and it scared me just a little.

Looking forward to spreading the word about this race in the coming months for next year and making it out to the other Grand Slam races.

Happy Halloween!
