Ask five people and you'll get five or more answers.

Bottom line is that most have positive and negative features.

Good day!

If you are club racing, use what is most popular with the other drivers. Then when you have questions or problems, there will be more help avalable.

If you're looking for one that has the internal booster for 1s without the need of a receiver battery, other than the Hobby Wing, there is also the LRP SXX V.2

The Novak Kinetic 1s requires a receiver battery. It does not have an internal booster like the other 1s speed controls. Even more so, the Kinetic 1s can not be used with a booster unit like other 2s speed controls which can run 1s with a booster.

Confusing? Yes.
There are people who like running a receiver pack. There are people who are okay with the booster. And there are people who don't want to deal with either and just want to plug-in and go. You decide which route is best for you and then you will find which speed control is best for your application.

Very true. These are the terminals you solder your battery wires to. Never known them to be features though, more of a necessity.

Either way, yes you will get many different answers. That is what is great about this hobby, so many choices.

But to get back on topic, I run the Tekin RS and RS Pro. I run Tekin ESC's because they have been around for a while. Ran em back when NiCads were the standard battery and NiMH was just coming out. Even then they were an outstanding ESC.

They kinda know their shit when it comes to ESC's. Their support is second to none, nobody will deny that.

I run 12th scale. The Tekin has a great footprint and enough weight to help with lateral balance but not so much that it feels like a chunk of lead. The performance is top notch and bottom line....it just plain works. Having a Hotwire to tune the ESC is very handy as well.

The best thing I would say to look for when choosing an ESC. This is IMHO the most important factor, SUPPORT. If you can't get good support then don't even bother.

Well I gotta get back to packing for the IIC. Have fun in your search!
