Raced mine yesterday for the first time. And I can say the steering is totally different to my T2'009 in a positive way. Very good steering and grip.
Needed some time to get used to the car but after one day I am faster with basic carpet setup than with my tuned and setupped T2'009.

If you know the TRF shocks it is hard to believe the plastic shocks will work. Till now I didnt had any problems with it. But I dont know if the Xray alu shocks are better. However it runs fast even with plastics...

I ran them for a while on my 11. They were easy to build, and seemed to be smoother. After running them for a while I found that they needed to be lengthened to give the car more droop, I swapped back to the XRAY ones to lose a few grams

I changed the lower ball joint and the spring retainer. I have seen some guys open up the hole in the cap to allow the use of an upper XRAY ball joint.

Default TRF shocks

If you use the std tamiya upper shock mounts the shocks rub against the tower in the rear inner positions. Enlarging the TRF upper cap to accept the xray shock pieces pushes the shock body far enough away. The fronts work fine without modification, I did it anyway so the shock lengths are the same all the way around
