Ran my 12 for the first time last night.

Well.

I'm smitten.

I was going to keep my 11 as at the time I didn't think the 12 could be that much better.
Safe to say. There will be an 11 on the bay to make way for another 12.

The new front drive shafts are awesome. None of the chatter associated with the older shafts. Makes do much better cornering.

I also added a front gear diff with 300k lube. This made a big difference also.

Fair to say I love the changes. If you are on the fence. Get of it and get one I really think it is that much better.

In the kit you get a front spool and rear gear diff. But for me on our tight carpet tracks it makes a real big difference.

Good to see so many positive responses about this car. I jumped from a T3'10 to the Mi4CX this year and im looking forward to getting back on the Xray bandwagon with a T3'12 kit soon.

One question Are you running the ECS shafts? Because the kit drive shafts are the same as every model since the T2'008...

Nope I have ECS's in my 11 but they are fragile and with the spool in my 11 upfront they wear real fast. Or more often break a pin. Even the new hardened V3 pin.

The front drives in the 12 are newish. Or better still Optomized. They have lightened them by an exact 38%. I see this has been done by hollowing out the stub shaft.
The stub shaft has also been machined out to give more room for the knuckle at full lock.
The barrel has also been hard anodised.
I did swap out the kit pins for the newer flat spotted pins ones also.

i think you'll find that the chatter has stopped because you have a gear diff in the front, with a spool you'll probably still get it, it is the way that the drive shafts are designed, hence why they sell ecs to stop it for 35 per shaft!

If like on my car you dont need to have the motor that far across, you dont have to do anything to the topdeck, and I think its better if you can keep it symmetrical.. Thats probably why they did it like that. You could use a std T3 topdeck, as that was narrower on the motor side to help this, or just file it like you have done. :-)

Picture of my car, sorry its a bit dark..

They are definitely in the states. I bought a conversion kit through my shop in Dallas last Thursday and I heard a kit was sold through the shop the same day. On Fridays RCA closes at 1 I think and then are not open again until Monday. I'm sure Bryan or Ralph will get back with you soon.
