A lot of factors here on this one, luckily you really only have a couple of choices.
Protoform LTC-R is a good all around body that works well in most conditions. Most drivers outside run this body and a few inside (on Carpet or Paved) also use this body. For my driving style and car setup, the LTC-R works best in all conditions.
Protoform Mazdaspeed 6 is a really good body as well and is used most on carpet or other really high grip surfaces. I have never really liked this body, but a lot of people seem to and can make it work.
Regardless of what people will tell you the best thing you can do for yourself is to buy both and run them back to back. I think you will find that the LTC-R is bit more linear through the corner and the Mazda feels more progressive.
LTC-R seems to have great initial but looses a little bit of mid corner before it really digs in late in the corner.
The MazdaSPeed6 has a little less initial, but mid corner it is a monster and stays that way till the end of the corner.
Probably for most Xray setups the Speed 6 would be best since the car washes a bit mid corner, but I simply do not like how aggressive the car gets with this body. Poeple will tell you otherwise...that is why I suggest you get both and learn for yourself.

So i was looking at one of paul lemieuxs set up sheets and hes running 52mm in the front and 50 mm shafts in the rear .....does anybody know why ? or is that a mistake on the set up sheet

I think it has been designed with both conditions in mind...
On low traction it should generate more mechanical grip, whilst in high traction it could help to smooth the car out and reduce traction roll.
Similarly often we use softer springs in low traction to generate more mechanical grip and in high traction to make the car easier to drive and prevent traction roll.

On outdoor asphalt, LTC-R for more steering and bit more agressive, speed 6 smoother and progressive. LTC-R when the grip is up, speed 6 when bit slippery
The R9R is way to aggressive i find too.

Anyone tried using the new 2.0mm chassis on medium grip asphalt?
Thanks

Hey Skiddins,
I found the new surface at West London to be Medium traction. Old surface being fairly low...
I will be testing with the new chassis outdoors fairly soon, I'm going to start with a 2mm chassis and 2mm topdeck and take it from there. I think this is the combo Alex ended up on at the Gran Caneria ETS which was fairly low traction and a little bumpy like most of the UK tracks.

I had the 2.5mm chassis on today and the handling was OK but could have done with a bit more steering.
I think grip has dropped slightly at WLRC since last year, so I was thinking of either just changing the top deck to the 1.6mm, or just the chassis to the 2.0mm.
Has anyone tried the 2.0mm chassis indoors?
And why would the 2.0mm chassis not be recommended for medium grip
