full scale racing, like MX... is a sport... nascar.. sure.. that all takes endurance.. I have raced MX... and i can say I have never been involved in a more physically demanding sport..

RC.. takes no exhursion.... not a sport. it does take concentration, and good eye hand coordination... Hardly athletic...

Baseball is a game, played by ATHLETES.. is an rc racer an Athlete? Nope....

not a sport-

RC....absolutely, a TRUE REAL Sport, a money spending sport, keep opening and closing your wallet and buy all the latestly Purple Bling Bling and Carbon fiber this and that....

Only RC sport is a 2.4 hour endurence Nitro race for a 1 person team and he need to fuel his car every 5 minutes, running back and forth on a 25 feet high drivers stand.....that is a sport.

Default Definition of sport

Sport- An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.

Sorry R/C is not a sport.

Sorry R/C is not a sport.
What about things like darts, chess, pool. They dont take much physical exersion. I would say yes it is a sport, it requires practice patience and effort as well as knowledge.

Without athletes, it's just not a sport. It is challenging and competitive, but that doesn't make it a sport.

Many things called a sport is not a sport.

Darts
Pool
Archery?
Bowling

Many of these and others get called a sport.

My only issue is consistency, if RC is not a sport then all these things should not be called sports. The likes of full scales auto racing may take physical exersion to complete but strongest and fittest do not determine the winner.

crimson eagle....

I agree.

None of those are sports, either.

I suppose first and foremost, rc is a hobby. To call it a sport, would be a stretch.
with, the exception maybe of hunting, all of those are sports, especially TABLE TENNIS, which is the biggest sport, in terms of paid up participants, in the world. It requires alot more fitness to play properly than you would think.

RC can be classified as MOTOR-SPORT or AUTO SPORT

what we need is a POLL...

set up a poll, to be ended upon 12-31-04 and what ever the results are, should be considered LAW...

post it in all the mags... credit me for the idea...

For serious racers, not just the pro's it is a sport, the spirit of the competition, the thrill of winning, the cries of defeat, hard work and long hours to achieve a higher ranking, if i want to just have fun, like a hobby, ill go drive my T-maxx at the park or fly, with no pressure to win!

when people in rc are getting paid to race little toys, it has just crossed over from a hoby to a sport....

on a regular persons level, it all depends what level u want to go to... do u do it for fun?? or do u like the competition???
