I have been inspecting my front end after our winter series finished and have noticed that the front springs have settled giving a a lot of droop. Is it the done thing to shim the Old Skool front end and if so do you shim above the spring or below the steering block as this will affect the ride height?

Thanks

You most likely have collapsed front springs. You need to replace them after a hard hit or every couple of weeks.

Sorry Reynard I missed this,

Yes, that is the new battery brace/shock mount.

There are 3 Top plates. The stock one that comes on the car. A "middle" one that is on my car there. And a Long one that we've been using on the wgt3 cars. I liked the middle/middle out of what I tried. I'd like to go back and try some things out, but just haven't had the opportunity to run the car recently.

Looks like Bruce just added them to the site today.

Hi,

The Old Skool Front Braces should finally be back in stock around the end of next week.

We ran out of stock on them at the end of February, and just had too many projects going to get them done.

They are supposed to go to the anodizer on Monday or Tuesday, and then we are going to see if we have room to laser inscribe SpeedMerchant on them.

I also had this batch done in Blue and Black.

The new Aluminum steering Blocks should be coming in right at the same time...also done in Blue and Black.

As soon as I get them in the building, I'll get a picture up on-line and update the website.

Thanks for being patient.

Have a great weekend.-Bruce

Bruce/Peter,

I noticed a reference to Peter using the new .019 springs at the Carpet Nats. Was this on his Mod car or 17.5?

If the latter, Im curious to what sort of setup you guys found to work well for stock @ Mikes.
