Cant decide - TT01 or TB03
Hey guys
I really had my heart set on a TT-01 since the first time I saw one drifting. Everywhere I have read people are saying they are cheap, reliable and fun to drift
I'm a beginner and am looking for a drift car, something I can upgrade and make better over time but something I can keep and enjoy later on as I get better at drifting
Don't mind and am more than capable of converting from bushed to brushless, not chasing speed or power just a well balanced and powered drift car. Not looking at going crazy with a lot of hop ups, really just want a thrasher with nice style, nice offset wheels and clean JDM shell
TT-01 seemed to be the way to go but the more I look into it now people seem to be saying TB03 is better, stronger and newer and drifts better than the TT-01 and will outlast a TT-01
I can get a new TT-01 kit assembled with ball bearings and oil filled shocks for $100 comes with a shell also
Price wise and everything I mentioned above, which would be a better choice?
Thanks in advance

Nothing wrong with a TT01.
I have a TA05 (belt version of a TB03) and it is a great drifter but I can do the exact same thing with my TT01 and it is way cheaper to repair and run. Parts are readily available anywhere and everywhere....actually more so than the TB03!
TA05 parts support is just as good as the TT01 if not better.....the TB03 just never took off as well as the TA05.
It is all about the setup and how you drive it, nothing more....you can make any 4WD chassis drift.

Belt > Shaft, for drifting. Smoother and no torque steer. But as mentioned, can be more prone to rock damage (I haven't had an issue with my t2 009 and multiple hours in various conditions).
If you think you want to get into countersteer, a belt chassis is much easier to work with. Check out the Sakura Zero S - it appears to be a straight copy of the T2 009...

It depends
If you have the money buy the TB03. It also depends, do you want shaft or belt driven? If you plan on racing you should go with belt, if you just want to bash in a parking lot go for a shaft. If you want belt the car to go with is a Tamiya TA05, which have a few models (IFS 5-6 years old or V2 the newest) also with the TA05 you can get the R model which is worth $380 in all the carbon and aluminum upgrades. Hope I helped!!!

Thanks for all the help guys
I'm convinced on the tb03 now and it's also in my price range
With the 5 listed on the website, is there any differences with the chassis set up?
The shells are different obviously but not concerned about which shell I get as I will be changing it anyway
Thanks

a bit harsh??....
obselete , overpriced, INCOMPLETE out of the box, outspecced by Chinese toy RC's.....
Tamiya should be ashamed to sell it as is. Doesnt even have bearings, oil shocks, metal centreshaft or metal dogbones !!! (outspecced by Chinese toy RC's)
go for TB03. Its what a TT01 should be
or a TA05 (watch out for small stones & debris)
or a used Cyclone TC
