Arrow $1k budget, 1/10 asphalt onroad advice

Hey everyone,

After a break of 3-4 years I'm getting back into this. I figure this is a good, specific thread for more people in my situation. 1k or so budget. I need everything. I'll be doing 1/10 asphalt touring.

Also, FYI, back when I was in the hobby, LiPo and brushless had just started catching on (I've never used either).

Car: Xray T3 2011 or Photon
ESC:
Motor: need 17.5, suggestions?
TX/RX: KO Eurus or M11x
Servo:
Battery Pack:I'm looking at http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...-Car-Batteries and don't know what's best for my application
Charger: what charging rates do you use for LiPos?
Body:
Tires:
PT: AMB PTs are still widely used I assume
Anything else I forgot:

I'd just like the top two choices for each category, based on my budget (~1k).
Thanks a lot for getting me started again!

Good choices for the car but also consider the TC6. Fantastic car.

ESC = Tekin for boosted, whatever you want for blinky.

Motor, Duo3 or LRP.

Good radio choices, I like the M11

Savox low profile servo.

Tires, most tracks run a spec tire these days. If not, try to find Sorex.

For batteries, what's best for my application? Should I be looking at 65C 7.4v/5000 mah? Also, what chargers should I be looking at?

batt: any reputable brand, but my fav is gen ace. Cheap and powerful.
I don't think you need such an expensive batt for 17.5 classes.

charger: I bought plenty of chargers before eventually ending up with the hyperion line.

I would go with 40-50c people use all types depends on your driving style.
I like the Dynamite Passport Ultra but the Duratrax Onyx series are also good if you want to save some money.

Gens Ace are some alright batteries for the price.

I think you should buy my Mi4cx, with Airtronics 94746 steerring servo, Speedpassion 2.0 pro esc, Speedpassion V3 17.5, Protech 5600 50c lipo, Personal Transponder, Core RC udc-20 charger, with a box of misc spares that fit from a Mi3 to a Mi4 cx, includes two spec r gear diffs, for $600.00 and then buy a KO radio and call it good. also comes with "flex" chassis and Team tamale Hinge pin upgrade. this car TQ 21.5 at carpet nats and made the A main 17.5 at Reedy.

this deal only good for the OP so don't go filling my PM box...

If I had to buy onroad all over again with a limited budget:

a mildly used T3 '11 $400
used tekin rs or orca vritra() $130
new duo3 17.5 $70
savox servo 1256tg $70
spektrum dx3r with dsm2 rx used $200
gens ace 40/50C lipo new $35 <---------- hobbypartz.com
orca q lipo2s charger $40
misc glues lubes grease traction compound $75
tires 3 sets $70
p37r body + spray cans $45
used amb pt $60

buying a eurus / m11x would add another 2-3 bills.

.....I don't even want to add up what I have for my current setup
