Default 4x4 esc is bad...

I put a fan on it. But it still has problems. No reverse. Also, it is very slow. Like the lipo cut off is on. I took the lipo cut off, off. I just ran a 2 cell lipo on it. I had it for about 3 to 4 months....any thing else i can do?? I would like to save it before ungrading it to a real esc. Like Castle Creations.

What is your ESC?
what car are you running?
what gearing is used?
what motor?
