The best always go to the top of the leader board. Seeding the quals like that will provide better racing all weekend long. As far people not attending its my opinion that it has ALOT to do with the holiday weekend.

This one more reason we went with the 1 practice 6 qual format. That adds an additional resort which offers a chance to move up the heat board into better groups twice.

I understand EA, but you can't please everyone. Last year we heard complaints from some about trying the fastest 5 consecutive laps. There were concerns that some would run max. timing, big gear, just to get some fast laps in and up their seed.

I could always set the heatboard myself I guess, or we could treat the single practice as a seeding run. I feel it makes no difference, as people will always have their own opinion as to what heat they "should have" been in.

Grearing up to run 5 fast laps? Are you kidding me? Whoever thinks that is crazy. In oval I can see it MAYBE...but not on road. It will kill everything in the infield.

The first time I came to Cleveland 5-6 years ago I remember being in a heat race that I thought some of the guys were running RTR cars from Toys R Us they were so bad. It was my worst race experieces ever because I couldnt finish a qualifier the way it was. Needless to say I didnt go back for a few years until they changed the "seed by last year" thing.

Not going to get started on 1 practice and 6 qual thing.

Regardless I know you guys will put on a Great show and everyone will enjoy it as usual.

I hope so too! It would be awesome to see the Champs come back full strength with Ian running the race now!

As much as the 1 practice 6 qualified sounds crazy I really really like the idea ! in my opinion it gives you more chances and we all know the track is better in the later rounds but you could still be saved by an early round if things are not going your way later. And for those of you who think this is crazy well, you can always look at it as 3 practice and 4 qualifier if you want !!! Sorry walt if I quote your post nothing I said in there was toward you... make sure we get a fridg

At any rate, how about an online petition to change 1/12 17.5 to Blinky for the Champs ??? Or at least for the old man's class (masters)

What's the oval turnout looking like? Have heard some...uhhh..."things" about last year, but nobody's sayin' what "things". Just that oval was a pretty bad experience last year.

Not sure what "things" you're hearing, but I was there last year and I also ran oval. About the only thing that I can think of was the turnout was kind of low. But..... it was the first year it was ever offered at the Champs, so I'm sure there will be many improvements this year. Are you planning on attending?

Default 1/12 MOD

My registration has just been confirmed for 1/12 MOD.
I booked my room for three nights.
Made a motor purchase from Team Fantom.

All I need to do is show up! Hopefully the border wait won't be too long. We are coming in from Ontario Canada. I'm bringing the whole family. My wife just wants to shop ! - we already had our Thanksgiving a few weeks ago. So I might get to eat some Turkey again! gobble gobble

Default WGT at the Champs

Quick question....heard that WGT might be a hand out tire class at the Champs.

Any truth to that? Is so what are the details?

Thanks.....

Not sure on the "handout" part, but WGT has always been a Spec tire. CRC, John's BSR, and (sometimes) Jaco all make approved Spec tires.

CRC and BSR WGT tires are the only approved tires for the event. You are more than welcome to bring your own, and they will also be available at the event.
