The worlds track in Germany was quite "small" but that didn't produce good racing at all, infact I've seen less crashes in finals at my local club. Track size doesn't always dictate the racing.

If they pick a good tyre there will be no problems - at they proved at that ETS race, and as we have proven at UK nationals on bigger tracks over the last few years.

Anyone saying that this is not suitable for world class TC racing and that it won't provide close and exciting racing obviously was not present at last years ETS race at the same track.

Watching the cars on that track and listening to the sounds really gets the adrenaline going in a way no other race I have visited have managed, and I have visited a fair few of the big TC races during the last 10 years, including the last ISTC Worlds.

This track is also the most fun track to drive I have ever raced at.

Totally agree, every now and then I go back and watch the videos again - awesome racing right at the time that the boost war was just starting up. That said, I think the chicane they are putting in is a good thing so the next worlds aren't won simply by whoever has the biggest power

I agree with kentech.
The debate for which type of track is best suited for each class will never end but the fact is that on all recent top level races, EFRA EUROS, IFMAR WC, TITC etc, that were held on compact small tracks the level of spectacle was not that great.
Especially last IFMAR at Germany at such a small track I would describe it as a poor race, strictly speaking in regards to the racing action. Not a single nice pass was achieved in the top Amains without contact or crash. Compare this to the ETS races held at Heemsteed and Apeldoorn (you may watch the videos at Redrc's youtube channel) where we had high speed action with nice overtaking moves.
Our nice little 1/10 electric powered touring cars have become so powerfull that they exceed in speed the same size 1/10 nitro powered cars and thus they can easily run on so called 'nitro tracks'.
I strongly believe that at this level of racing you need some clear space to be able to make a clean pass as all top 30 drivers very rarely miss their lines. So in small tracks, even if you have a better package, you are stuck behind the driver in front.
I understand that by racing at such large tracks, equipment (power & reliability) starts to play a bigger role, but I believe that since this is racing at WC level, so be it, may the best driver with the best equipment win.
As a side note, the best pass ever in ISTC Touring was achieved at a long and wide sweeper at the end of a long (not very long, but long enough and wide enough) straight, and not in the infield.
So let them race in big space and enjoy the show.

RCS was a pretty tight track. Volker also made an awesome pass on Rheinard at IIC and that was a REALLY tight track.

We've got a multi-layout track and what we've found is that some layouts have much less crashing than others, it just depends on the corner mix.

I think its strange how they use shots from VRC and not real video.

But that 12th scale indoor track looks way sick.

They used VRC in order to simulate the new layout with the addition of an 'S' section right after the long sweeping lefthander that launches the car into the main straight.

This new layout is probably not ready yet, thus no actual footage available at the moment. I assume they wait for the weather to improve before they can make any changes.

I found the video very nice, and yes, that indoor track for 1/12 looks great.

Both VRC Movies are just to give you an idea.... They are working on the outdoor track, but with the winter comming in, it's not the best time to put down some tarmac.

The 12th scale track is just "a" track and not "the" track. This is also to give you an idea.....

I think the video is awesome
