Default CS-Electronic Powercheck 232 issue

Ive an annoying issue with a CS-Electronic Powercheck.

The unit has been served me for years without any problems until the B/L motors comes out. So is sitting on the shelf from a couple of years (at least...).

A friend ask me to check a bunch of old school motors and I gladly help him.

The unit works fine in a stand alone mode but there is no way I can get the 232 connection working. No way.

PC 232 parameters are the usual 9600 8 no parity- 1 bit stop no flux control.

Ive also opened the 232 cable to see if a wire went off. 3 wires welded, with the fourth one not connected. Sounds fine?

Any help is appreciated.
