Default why is my car slow in reverse?

my rtr tc3 with the lrp runner speedo in it seems like my motor does not go as fast as it does in reverse as it does forward it still reverses kinda fast but not like forward fast, even though when checked with my multimeter its getting the same voltage each way?

When you are going forward the motor has advanced timing so it will be kinda fast when you put it in reverse the motor has retarded timing wich will be slower than when its advanced. The only way that it would be the same speed is if you had a motor in their that had 0 degrees of timing

Don't run in reverse too much, you can burn up the speeder with the motor timing retarded like most stock motors are!

The reason why it's not as fast is because of the timing of the motor and there are not as many fets in the speed control for going in reverse as there are for going forward.

Sorry, nope.

The reason (as stated above) is because of the timing of the motor. The motor is not effecient when the timing is "retarded".

The motor would be the same speed if it were hooked directly to a battery in reverse!!!

That is true about the timing of the motor but what I said is true also.

yes you are. its just because you really dont need to go that fast going backwards. if you do go buy a victor 883 or 884. thatll give you full forwards and back. of course it wont fit tho.
